Terms of Engagement

These Terms of Engagement apply to all design services provided by Studio Marina.

By proceeding with a project, consultation, or design service, you agree to the following terms.

1. Scope of Services

Studio Marina provides landscape and garden design services, which may include:

  • Design consultations

  • Concept and detailed garden designs

  • Planting plans

  • Visualisations and moodboards

  • Design advice and sourcing assistance

The scope of work for each project will be outlined separately in a written proposal or quotation.

2. Fees & Payment

Fees will be outlined in advance and agreed before work begins.

Invoices are payable within 14 days unless otherwise stated. Studio Marina reserves the right to pause work on a project where payments are overdue.

Any additional work outside the agreed scope may incur additional fees.

3. Revisions

Design packages include a reasonable number of revisions as outlined in the project proposal.

Significant changes to the agreed brief or repeated revisions beyond the agreed scope may be charged additionally.

4. Planting & Materials

Plant availability may vary depending on season, supplier availability, and timing.

Where sourcing assistance or trade pricing is offered, prices are estimates and may change before ordering.

Studio Marina cannot guarantee the long-term survival or performance of plants due to factors outside our control, including weather, soil conditions, maintenance, irrigation, or contractor workmanship.

5. Contractors & Installation

Studio Marina is a design consultancy and does not undertake construction or landscaping works directly unless explicitly agreed in writing.

Clients contract directly with any landscapers, contractors, or suppliers.

While recommendations may be provided, Studio Marina is not responsible for contractor performance, workmanship, construction methods, timelines, or installation outcomes.

6. Timelines

Estimated timelines will be discussed at the outset of the project. Delays caused by weather, contractor availability, client feedback, or supplier lead times may affect delivery schedules.

7. Intellectual Property

All drawings, visuals, planting plans, and design materials produced by Studio Marina remain the intellectual property of Studio Marina unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Designs may not be reproduced, shared commercially, or used on another site without permission.

8. Photography & Portfolio Use

Studio Marina may photograph completed projects and use imagery, drawings, or visuals for portfolio, website, editorial, or social media purposes unless requested otherwise in writing.

9. Limitation of Liability

Studio Marina will carry out all services with reasonable skill and care.

Liability is limited to the value of the fees paid for the relevant service provided.

10. Cancellation

Either party may cancel a project in writing at any time.

Fees for work already completed up to the cancellation date remain payable.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
